Burdock Root: This medicinal herb has powerful anti-tumor, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial properties. For centuries now, burdock roots, leaves and flowers have been well-respected for their medicinal and nutritional abilities. Burdock root is highly beneficial in reducing symptoms of colds, flu, sore throats, bronchial congestion, ulcers, gallstones, anemia, kidney stones, chicken pox, gout, measles, strep throat, urinary tract infections, bladder infections, hepatitis, and enlarged prostates. One of burdock root tea’s earliest uses was for detoxifying the body. It can also help purify the blood, and is known to induce sweating and urination. If you suffer from chronic skin problems such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, and shingles, burdock root tea is a valuable tool in your healing protocol. It can also help to stimulate metabolism, re-grow hair, strengthen nails, and aid in edema and aid weight loss.
Red Clover: Red clover not only helps detox the liver but also cleanses the lymphatic system. Red clover is loaded with nutrients - you can get more out of red clover than any multivitamin on the shelf. Plus red clover's alkaloids work hand in hand with its amino acids to break up and reduce stored up unnecessary fat so it can be flushed out of the body.
Dandelion: Dandelion is commonly used in folk medicine and more recently has been scientifically proven to relieve a variety of symptoms such as water retention, poor appetite, digestive problems, such as upset stomach, heartburn and indigestion. Dandelion is also an excellent detoxifier, ridding the body of toxic heavy metals, DDT and other poisons. Dandelion is not just a cleansing herb. 'It's like a housekeeping service at a fancy hotel that, after tidying up and gathering the trash, leaves a mint behind on your pillow. Dandelion's parting gift is better than candy, though - it leaves behind vital nutrients such as vitamin A, B vitamins, manganese, iodine, calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, silica and chlorophyll that give you energy and help your body stave off disease' - Anthony William
Nettle: Traditionally used by herbalists to treat a broad spectrum of complaints including arthritis, eczema and other persistent skin conditions, high blood pressure and inflammation. Nettles contain a potent anti-inflammatory agent which help to curb the action of cytokines, one of the key components to inflammation in the body. Nettle leaf has also been prescribed by herbalists to provide relief for digestive issues such as nausea, flatulence, acid reflux, and colitis. Nettle tea supports the endocrine system (including the spleen, thyroid, and pancreas) and reproductive system. It is also beneficial in boosting liver, heart and adrenal health and helps to prevent urinary tract infections as well as bladder and kidney stones.
This blend is inspired by the Liver Rescue Tea by Anthony William - featured in his fourth book (pg 366), Liver Rescue available here.
