Hibiscus sabdariffa
This ruby red hibiscus tisane, with a sweet/tart taste contains numerous beneficial nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids and bioflavonoids. Considered an excellent immune system booster, hibiscus is also traditionally used to help digestive, inflammatory, hypertension and liver issues.
Directions: make as a tea and pour just boiled water over 1-2 teaspoons of leaves and allow to steep for 5-15mins (the longer the better to extract the maximum nutrients). Add honey if required. Serve hot or iced.
